Every community bank has an obligation to actively identify and serve all facets of their community without discrimination. You must identify and address the credit needs of all geographic and income segments of your designated assessment area under CRA. Lenders are expected to assess these credit needs and demonstrate their efforts to offer appropriate services. The Fair Housing Laws and Regulations prohibit discrimination in all of your lending practices. Recent regulatory emphasis has changed the issue of self-assessment from a question of "if" to "how". When the spotlight shifted from technical compliance to the much more substantial question of whether banks consistently service qualified applicants comparably, the need for a sound method became critical! Learn to document your activities and "X-Ray" your bank efficiently to promote a healthy program! Full Day Session |
